Rockhurst falls to No. 24 Quincy and No. 1 Lewis

The 24th-ranked Quincy Hawks rallied for a 3-2 victory over the 21st-ranked Rockhurst Hawks Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

Quincy won the fourth and fifth sets, 25-20 and 15-13. Rockhurst took a 2-1 lead with wins in the first and third sets, 25-19 and 25-20. Quincy won the second set, 25-21.
 
Averi Vomastic led Rockhurst with 15 kill, 13 digs and 18 points. Audrey Arand tallied 13 kills and 15.5 points.

Justice Wingate collected 10 kills, eight blocks and 14 points. Kenzie Hines posted nine kills and 9.5 points. Morgan Conner added seven kills, six blocks and 10 points.

Maureen Reilly had a team-high 41 digs. Gabbie Inman and Dani Prusha combined for 55 assists and 23 digs.

The Hawks also suffered a 3-1 loss to No.-1 ranked Lewis on Saturday morning. Rockhurst won the third set, 25-17, after dropping the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-12. Lewis won the fourth set, 25-14.

Vomastic led Rockhurst with 13 kills, eight digs and 14.5 points. Wingate posted eight kills and eight points. Hines and Conner each had seven kills.

Jadyn Makovicka had a team-high 11 digs. Inman and Prusha combined for 38 assists and 13 digs.
 
Rockhurst (5-6) will play Illinois Springfield and Maryville on Saturday, March 13 in Springfield, Illinois.
