Hawks post two wins away from home

The Rockhurst volleyball team opened the weekend with a 3-0 victory over Illinois Springfield (25-18, 25-17, 25-21) Saturday in Springfield, Illinois.

Averi Vomastic finished with 13 kills and five digs to lead the Hawks. Audrey Arand posted 11 kills. Dani Prusha tallied 23 assists and 14 digs. Maureen Reilly added 13 digs.
 
Set One: Rockhurst 25, Illinois Springfield 18
The Hawks closed the set on a 9-3 run. Vomastic led the way with five kills.
 
Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Illinois Springfield 17
Rockhurst jumped out to a 12-4 lead. Kenzie Hines, Vomastic and Arand each had four kills.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Illinois Springfield 21
The Hawks ended the set on a 4-2 run. Morgan Conner led the Hawks with five digs.

• Freshman Tera Reberry totaled seven kills and three blocks.

The Hawks came back Saturday afternoon to defeat Maryville, 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22) in Springfield. Morgan Conner led the Hawks with 12 kills and nine blocks.

Arand collected nine kills and seven digs. Vomastic posted eight kills and seven blocks. Prusha tallied 23 assists and nine digs. Reilly had a team-high 21 digs.

The Hawks (7-6, 5-6 GLVC) play Truman State and McKendree next Saturday in Kirksville, Missouri.
