Balanced attack leads Hawks to 20-14 victory

Nine different players scored goals to lead Rockhurst to a 20-14 victory over Missouri Western Friday night in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The Hawks jumped out to a 15-6 halftime lead. Carolyn Byrd posted three of her team-high four goals in the first half. Byrd's fourth goal of the night gave the Hawks a 20-12 lead with 6:10 left in the game.

Helen Krause led the Hawks with five points on three goals and two assists. Emelia Boillat and Catey Roux each finished with three goals and one assist. Logan Derosia and Olivia Collier added two goals apiece.

Collier won a game-high 13 draw controls, along with having three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Madison Cook tallied five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

RU goalies Sydney Shindler and Madeline Morrison combined for 13 saves.

The Hawks (2-1) host McKendree on March 14.
