Big run carries Hawks to 12-8 road win

Rockhurst scored eight unanswered goals to rally for 12-8 victory over Davenport Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Hawks ended the first half on a 4-0 run and scored the first four goals of the second half to take an 8-3 lead late in the third period.

Kai Trujillo, Ricky Bloom and Kevin Grelle added goals in the fourth period to secure the Hawks' first win since Feb. 27.

Brooks Hanson and Grelle each posted three goals and one assist. John Myran tallied one goal and three assists. Jonny Licau added two goals.

Hanson and Jack Vande Ven led the Hawks with nine shots apiece. Blake Bellinger and Grelle each had eight shots.

Sal Valdivia won 10-of-12 faceoffs and had nine ground balls. Nick Mostrom captured nine-of-12 faceoffs and posted five ground balls. Graden Soucy and Matt Buckley each had three caused turnovers.

Rockhurst outshot the Panthers, 64-26. The Hawks had a 36-12 edge in shots in the second half.

Hayden Harris finished with 10 saves for the Hawks (4-3), who play at Quincy on Tuesday, April 6.
