Hawks rally for 10-8 road win in Bolivar

The Rockhurst baseball team rallied from a six-run deficit to edge Southwest Baptist, 10-8, Friday night in Bolivar, Missouri.

Ty Herrenbruck doubled home the winning run in the ninth inning to give the Hawks a 9-8 lead. Tommy Kraus added a run-scoring single in the ninth and the Hawks survived a base-loaded situation in the bottom of the ninth.

Rockhurst scored five runs in the fourth inning after falling behind 6-0 in the third inning. The Hawks added three runs in the sixth to take an 8-6 lead on a two-run single by Nic Mertes.

Kraus led the Hawks with two hits and three RBIs. His two-run single in the fourth cut SBU's lead to 6-3.

Connor Ellefson drove in two runs with a pinch-hit single in the fourth.

Nathan Mark and Garrett McNally added two hits apiece to the Hawks' 11-hit attack.

Luke Lancaster (2-1) held SBU scoreless on two hits over the final two innings.

Rockhurst (7-6, 4-5 GLVC) continues the weekend series with a doubleheader at SBU on Saturday.
