USI Eagles rally to tie Rockhurst, 1-1

For the second straight game, Rockhurst walked off the field without a victory or loss after 110 minutes. The Hawks and Southern Indiana battled to a 1-1 deadlock Sunday at RU's Bourke Field.

Rockhurst scored the first goal of the game in the 62nd minute. Elluan Martins Gomes headed in a shot inside the right post from three yards out. Xavier Hadley and Jimmy Choinka assisted on the goal.

Southern Indiana found the equalizer in the 80th minute when Graham Miller knocked in a six-yard shot off a team save.

The Hawks finished with 12 shots and four shots on goal. Martins Gomes, Tomasso Tirabassi and Alessandro Macchioni each had two shots for the Hawks.

Peter Baker posted three saves and the Hawks added two team saves.

The Hawks, 1-4-3, play at Indianapolis Friday night.
