Hawks fall at home to 12th-ranked Regis

The 12th-ranked Regis Rangers scored seven unanswered goals to pull away for a 16-7 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at RU's Bourke Field.

Carolyn Byrd scored a free position goal early in the second half to cut the Regis lead to 9-6. The Rangers then went on a 7-0 run over the next 21 minutes.

Byrd led the Hawks with three goals and seven shots. The sophomore midfielder was two-for-five on free shot position shots.

Catey Roux scored two free position goals in the first half. Marianna Anderson had one goal and two draw controls. Helen Krause added a free position goal.

Sydney Shindler tallied eight saves. Christine Corbin posted a team-high four draw controls.

Mackenzie Blair totaled five ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. Madison Cook collected three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Hawks (2-3) host Missouri Western on April 2.
