Hawks battle to 0-0 tie with McKendree

The Rockhurst men's soccer team collected their second tie of the season as the Hawks and McKendree battled to a scoreless tie Friday night at RU's Bourke Field.

McKendree turned back three Rockhurst shots in the first two minutes of the second half. The Hawks stopped a late shot by McKendree with a team save in the second overtime period.

Rockhurst finished with 11 shots and four shots on goal. Tomasso Tirabassi, Chase Klusman and Blake Mann each had two shots for the Hawks. Klusman had two shots rejected by the McKendree goalkeeper early in the second half.

The Bearcats posted seven shots and two shot on goals.

Peter Baker posted a shutout in his first start of the season. The Hawks, 1-4-2, host Southern Indiana on Sunday afternoon.
