Hawks pick up 3-1 win over Indianapolis

Averi Vomastic posted 16 kills and 19 points to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 victory over Indianapolis Saturday in St. Louis.

Morgan Conner collected 13 blocks, seven kills and 15 points. Justice Wingate tallied eight kills, five blocks and 11 points. Audrey Arand had seven kills and four blocks. Logan Gronewold added six kills and four blocks.

Jadyn Makovicka had a team-high 30 digs. Gabbie Inman posted 24 assists and 15 digs. Dani Prusha added 20 assists and 11 digs.

The Hawks also suffered a 3-1 loss to Missouri-St. Louis in their second match Saturday in St. Louis. Conner led Rockhurst with eight kills, four blocks and 10 points.

Set One: Indianapolis 25, Rockhurst 22
The Greyhounds ended the set on an 11-6 run. Averi Vomastic led the Hawks with seven kills.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Indianapolis 21
The Hawks close out the set with four unanswered points. Indy committed 13 hitting errors.

Set Three: Rockhurst 26, Indianapolis 24
Rockhurst rallied from a 24-22 deficit. Five Hawks combined for 14 kills.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Indianapolis 19
The Hawks jumped out to a 20-12 lead. Morgan Conner, Justice Wingate and Kenzie Hines combined for nine kills.
