Hawks fall at home to UAH Chargers

Hailey Gallant scored 12 points on eight goals and four assists to lead Alabama-Huntsville to a 21-11 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at RU's Bourke Field.

The Chargers ended the first half with four unanswered goals to take an 8-4 halftime lead. A 6-0 run in the second half gave UAH a 15-6 lead with 17:11 left.

Logan Derosia and Carolyn Byrd each scored two goals to cut Huntsville's lead to 16-10 with 11:13 left.

Derosia led the Hawks with six goals. Byrd finished with three goals. Danielle Mabry added one goal and one assist.

Madison Cook and Olivia Collier each posted three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Goalie Sydney Shindler had eight saves and four ground balls.

The Hawks (1-1) play at Missouri Western on March 5.
