Rockhurst posts 10-8 road victory at Lewis

Rockhurst opened the second half with four unanswered goals and held off Lewis for a 10-8 victory Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Lewis scored two man-up goals to cut Rockhurst's lead to 8-7 with 12:43 left. The 14th-ranked Hawks took a 9-7 lead on a goal by Kai Trujillo with 4:30 left. Jonny Licau put the Hawks back in front by two goals at the 1:20 mark.

Trujillo led the Hawks with five goals. Sam Lindahl finished with five points on one goal and four assists. Licau and Alec Helfin each posted three points on one goal and two assists. John Myran tallied two points on a goal and an assist.

Sal Valdivia won five-of-12 faceoffs and had three ground balls. Matt Buckley had a team-high five ground balls. Judge Greenberger tallied three caused turnovers.

Rockhurst (3-0) outshot Lewis (1-2), 33-28. Trujillo led the Hawks with eight shots. Brooks Hanson collected six shots. Lindahl and Heflin had four shots apiece.

Boomer Kubik finished with five saves and three ground balls.
