Inside play leads Lewis past Rockhurst

The Lewis Flyers scored 44 points in the paint while pulling away midway through the second half for a 79-66 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Lewis overcame a 43-42 deficit with 13 minutes left to take a 61-49 lead with 7:26 left. The Hawks never got closer than eight points in the final seven minutes.

"We got beat in many facets today," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "Their overall size and speed gave us fits on defense. Our decision-making and shot-making was poor. I am hopeful a week off will get guys healthy mentally and physically."
