Hawks fall in five to USI in GLVC Tournament

Southern Indiana took advantage of seven Rockhurst hitting errors in the fifth set to edge the Hawks 3-2 in the first round of the GLVC Championship Tournament (26-24, 22-25, 22-25, 20-25, 15-11) Friday night in East Peoria, Illinois.

The Screaming Eagles ended the fifth set on a 5-2 run to advance to the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament against Missouri-St. Louis Saturday night.

Averi Vomastic led the Hawks with 13 kills and 14 digs. Tera Reberry tallied 13 kills and three blocks. Kenzie Hines collected 12 kills, 12 digs and three blocks. Justice Wingate added 11 kills and seven blocks.

Maureen Reilly finished with 33 digs and five assists. Gabbie Inman had 28 assists and 10 digs. Sarah Montague added 22 assists and 11 digs.
