Hawks to face Southern Indiana in GLVC Tournament

The Hawks will play Southern Indiana at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Rockhurst will be making its 17th consecutive appearance in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament this weekend in East Peoria, Illinois.

The Hawks (20-10, 13-5 GLVC) captured the GLVC West Division title to earn the No. 3 seed in the tournament. The Hawks will play No. 6 seed Southern Indiana (17-12, 11-7 GLVC) at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the EastSide Centre.

Rockhurst defeated Southern Indiana, 3-2, in Kansas City in the regular season. The Hawks and Screaming Eagles have won the past three GLVC Championships. Rockhurst won back-to-back GLVC titles in 2018 and 2019, while Southern Indiana won the 2020-21 spring season crown.

Top-seeded Lewis (22-6, 16-1 GLVC) will face No. 8 Indianapolis (14-16, 10-8 GLVC) in the opening quarterfinal match on Friday at 11:30 a.m. The Flyers will look to extend its league record for GLVC Championship crowns to 11, winning its last title in 2017.

Missouri S&T (19-10, 12-6 GLVC) will play its quarterfinal match at 2:30 p.m. as the No. 4 seed and will take on fifth-seeded Quincy (17-12, 11-7 GLVC).

The first evening quarterfinal match will pit second-seeded Missouri-St. Louis (22-7, 15-3 GLVC) against No. 7 seed Illinois Springfield (14-15, 10-8 GLVC) at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Each of the four quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals set for 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The championship match will be held on Sunday at 12 p.m.
