Hawks clinch GLVC West title with 3-2 win over Miners

Rockhurst clinched first place in the GLVC West Division with a 3-2 victory over Missouri S&T (25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-9) Friday night in Rolla, Missouri.

The Hawks scored eight consecutive points to take 10-4 lead in the fifth set and closed out the match with a 5-2 run. Averi Vomastic collected four of her game-high 20 kills in the fifth set.

Kenzie Hines posted 16 kills and 16 digs. Tera Reberry tallied 14 kills and three blocks. Justice Wingate garnered 11 kills and 10 blocks. Vomastic added 13 digs and four blocks.

Maureen Reilly finished with 16 digs and seven assists. Gabbie Inman had 33 assists and 12 digs. Sarah Montague added 19 assists and 12 digs.

• The Hawks posted a .242 hitting percentage.
• Logan Gronewold and Sydney McDonald combined for 10 blocks.
• The Hawks finished with 69 kills, 81 digs and 17 blocks.
