Hawks are seeded third in Midwest Region Crossover

The 13th annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament, the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, will be held at the Hammond Sportsplex & Community Center in Hammond, Indiana on Oct. 15-16. The Rockhurst Hawks are the No. 3 seed from the GLVC and will play three matches over two days.

The Hawks (11-7, 6-3 GLVC) open play on Friday at 11 a.m. against Walsh (10-6, 6-3 G-MAC) and Wayne State (13-4, 7-2 GLIAC) at 6 p.m. Rockhurst will face Ashland (9-9, 8-1 G-MAC) at 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Walsh is the No. 3 seed in the G-MAC, Wayne State is the No. 3 seed in the GLIAC and Ashland is the No. 4 seed in the G-MAC.

The regional volleyball event will feature 15 Great Lakes Valley Conference teams, 11 institutions representing the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 12 programs from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Rockhurst posted a 1-2 record at the 2019 Midwest Region Crossover in Indianapolis. The Hawks are 25-11 all-time at the Crossover.

The two-day tournament will feature 57 matches throughout six sessions at one of the top volleyball facilities in the country. The event, designed to increase competition between teams from the three leagues in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region, has previously been held in Aurora, Illinois; Lansing, Michigan; and Indianapolis, Indiana.
