The Rockhurst Hawks opened their Colorado trip in style, cruising to a 27-0 win over Adams State Sunday in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
It was a balanced day offensively as 13 different Hawks scored.
Addison Bradley found the back of the net four times, while
Logan Derosia,
Carolyn Byrd,
Christine Corbin and
Hannah Miller each added three goals apiece.
Helen Krause,
Madison Cook and
Danielle Mabry each scored two goals.
Emelia Boillat scored once and racked up a team-high four assists. Miller, Cook and Mabry each dished out three assists.
Defensively,
Emily Duff,
Kate McDonald and
Madeline Morrison shared time at goalie and preserved the shutout. In front of them, Corbin was active, causing four turnovers, collecting four ground balls and winning four draw controls.
The Hawks took down the Grizzlies by the same score of 27-0 last season. Coach
Molly McCourt's squad improves to 3-3 with the win as Rockhurst will look to carry momentum into Monday's game vs. Westminster (3:00 p.m. CST).
