Logan Derosia scored seven goals as the Rockhurst Hawks defeated Westminster, 21-13, Monday in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Derosia found the back of the net four times in the first half, as the Hawks took a 12-6 lead into the break.
Westminster pulled within five early in the second half at 13-8, but Derosia and
Marianna Anderson combined for four straight goals to stretch the lead to nine.
Anderson finished with three goals and two assists.
Helen Krause matched those five points with four goals and one assist.
Olivia Collier and
Addison Bradley scored two goals apiece, while
Danielle Mabry added one goal and three assists.
Emily Duff played all 60 minutes in goal for Rockhurst, racking up 13 saves.
Spud Ring and
Nia Callion each caused three turnovers, while
Madison Cook led the way in draw controls with four.
Coach
Molly McCourt's team improves to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 on the Colorado trip. The Hawks go for three straight on Wednesday when they meet Colorado Mesa (8:00 p.m. CST).
