Hawks suffer road loss to No. 24 Tritons

Rockhurst was held to a season-low offensively in falling to 24th-ranked Missouri-St. Louis, 67-49, Saturday in St. Louis.
 
The Tritons (23-5, 14-4 GLVC) jumped out to a 27-19 halftime lead while holding to Rockhurst to seven-of-26 field goal shooting in the first half.
 
The second straight loss drops the Hawks to 15-11 overall and 11-7 in the GVLC.
 
"I think our guys were ready to play," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "We guarded great in the first half. We had trouble scoring. I think we can shoot better than we did. We will need to keep moving forward. It's frustrating, but I look forward to bouncing back."
 
UMSL scored 40 points on 60.0 percent shooting while holding the Hawks to 30 points on 39.3 percent shooting in the second half.

Quinton Curry led the Hawks with 15 points and six rebounds. Curry connected on six-of-13 shots from the field.
 
Chris Hamil scored 13 points on three-of-11 shooting from behind the three-point line. Curtis Lewis finished with five points, four rebounds and three assists.
 
Rockhurst shot 33.3 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the foul line.
 
The Hawks are currently in seventh place in the GLVC Point Rating System with two road games (at Southwest Baptist and at Drury) left in the regular season.
