Hawks trail Jewell by one shot after day one in KC Cup

Freshman Barbara Mae King is in second place individually after the first round.

The Rockhurst women's golf team is trailing William Jewell by one shot (317-316) after the first round of the KC Cup Monday at the Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri.

Barbara Mae King is in second place individually. The freshman from Leawood, Kansas posted an 85 over the par-71 course.

Caroline Setter was three shots behind King in third place, followed by Emma Hughes (91) and Emma Mullendore (82) in fifth and tied for sixth place, respectively. Ashley Fite, Carly Krause and Caroline Lynch also ended day one in the top 10.

The duel tournament will conclude on Tuesday afternoon at Shoal Creek.
