Rockhurst will face familiar foes at home

Junior midfielder Federico Verlicchi will lead the Hawks at home this weekend.
The Rockhurst men's soccer team meet two familiar foes this weekend. The Hawks host Truman State at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Quincy at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Truman State (2-1) opened conference play with a 2-0 victory at home over Quincy last Sunday. The Bulldogs outshot Quincy 15-9. Truman has outscored its three opponents, 6-4.

The Hawks have won seven of the last eight meetings and hold a 13-8-1 edge over Truman since 1998. Rockhurst blanked the Bulldogs, 3-0, last year in Kansas City.

Quincy (2-2, 0-1 GLVC) has posted wins over Northern Michigan and Purdue Northwest. The Hawks have scored 10 goals in their first four games, while allowing eight goals.

Since 1998, Rockhurst holds a 15-7-5 advantage over Quincy. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie last year in Kansas City.

Rockhurst (1-1-1, 1-0 GLVC) is coming off a 1-0 overtime win at home over William Jewell last Sunday. Freshman midfielder Jackson Wood scored the winning goal.

Both matches will be streamed for free on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN.com).
