No. 17 Hawks travel to Arkansas for Harding Invitational

The Rockhurst volleyball team (5-3) travels to Searcy, Arkansas this weekend to play four matches in the Harding Invitational.

On Friday, the 17th-ranked Hawks take on Ouachita Baptist (10:00 a.m.) and host school Harding University (2:00 p.m.). Rockhurst meets Arkansas Monticello (9:00 a.m.) and Christian Brothers University (1:00 p.m.) on Saturday.

The Hawks have one of the highest strength of schedules in the country, as all three losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top 11 nationally (No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth, No. 6 Nebraska-Kearney and No. 11 Tarleton State).

Coach Tracy Rietzke's team took three out of four in Kearney, Nebraska last weekend and will look to carry that momentum to Arkansas.

The Hawks have gotten strong contributions from senior All-American hitters Karli Reichert and Alyssa Woodman. Both are averaging north of three kills per set (Reichert 3.85, Woodman 3.19). Reichert's 3.85 clip is fifth-best in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Junior setter Dani Prusha and freshman libero Jadyn Makovicka are also among the conference's statistical leaders. Prusha's 10.56 assists per set ranks fourth in the GLVC, while Makovicka's 5.04 digs per set is tied for third.

The Hawks will look for continued good form out of these key players as they attempt to add to their win total in non-conference action.
