Sauber ties for 17th to lead Hawks at GLVC tourney

Abby Sauber tied for 17th place to lead Rockhurst at the 2019 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship Sunday at the par-72 Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois.

Sauber shot a three-round total of 244 for 54 holes, breaking the school record by two shots for 54 holes. Sauber shot an 85 and 80 in the first two rounds on Saturday and an 79 in Sunday's final round. Sauber broke the school record of 246 shot by Briana Bondon at the 2015 GLVC Championships at Annbriar.

Rockhurst tied for eighth place in the team standings with a 1,013 team score. The Hawks shot a 335 in the third round after shooting a 340 and 338 in the first two rounds. Indianapolis won the team title with a 914 team score.

The team 54-hole score of 1,013 is a new school record, breaking the mark of 1,029 set in 2012 at the Missouri State Payne Stewart Memorial.

Emma Hughes came in 31st place at 252 (84-88-80). Dorothy Keenan tied for 32nd at 253 (82-83-88). Carly Dorminy placed 48th at 264 (89-87-88). Hannah Johnston tied for 51st at 268 (90-88-90) to round out Rockhurst's team.
