Hawks start fast in 20-2 win at Oklahoma Baptist

The Rockhurst women's lacrosse team scored 14 goals in the first 26 minutes at Oklahoma Baptist, racing past the Bison for a 20-2 victory Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Audrey Ford and Logan Derosia led the charge offensively, combining for 15 goals. Ford found the back of the net eight times and added four ground balls. Derosia scored seven goals and collected three ground balls.

The Hawks took a 14-2 lead into halftime and blanked the Bison in the second half as Molly Dunham shined in goal.

Hannah Miller scored two goals and reeled in two ground balls. Olivia Collier scored a goal, caused three turnovers and tallied a game-high seven ground balls. Helen Krause scored one goal and assisted on three more. Brooke Elliott scored a goal and collected three ground balls.

Maddi Scheipeter led the Hawks in draw controls with five and added three ground balls. Spud Ring caused three turnovers and tallied five ground balls.

It was a strong performance all around and a great bounce back effort after a tough 11-10 defeat on Thursday vs. No. 8 Lindenwood. The Hawks return home next Saturday, April 27 to take on Colorado-Colorado Springs in their regular season finale.
