The Rockhurst women's tennis team posted a 4-3 victory over Newman in a non-conference dual Friday at the Clayview Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead after the doubles competition. Rockhurst won No. 1 and 3 doubles.

Sara Flaxbeard clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in No. 6 singles. Sam Czarnecki, Octavia Malin and Paula Romero also won their singles matches.

The Rockhurst women (5-3) will play Northwood in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, March 13.
