The Rockhurst women's tennis team wrapped up their Florida Spring Break trip with a 6-1 loss to Xavier University Friday at the USTA Training Center in Orlando, Florida.
Octavia Malin collected the Hawks' point with a three-set win in No. 4 singles. Malin was the GLVC Player of the Week last week.
Rockhurst opened the week with a 7-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston on Tuesday in Altamonte Park, Florida. The Hawks won all three doubles matches by 6-0 scores and swept the six singles matches without dropping a set.
The Hawks fell to Northwood, 6-2, on Wednesday and lost to third-ranked St. Leo, 7-0, on Thursday. Malin and Paula Romero posted singles wins against Northwood. Malin won in three sets in No. 4 singles, while Romero was a two-set winner in No. 5 singles.
The Hawks (6-6) open conference play at home against William Jewell on Friday, March 22.
