Rockhurst falls in 10 innings at Drury

Drury rallied from a four-run deficit to edge Rockhurst, 8-7, in 10 innings Tuesday in Ozark, Missouri. The Panthers opened the bottom of the 10th with back-to-back doubles to win their 14th game of the season.

The Hawks scored six runs in the fifth inning and one run in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. Drury scored two runs in the seventh and forced extra innings with two runs in the ninth.

Garrett McNally and Alex Van Pelt combined for four doubles and four RBIs. McNally gave the Hawks a 5-3 lead in the fifth with a two-run double. Van Pelt had an RBI double in the fifth and McNally added a run-scoring double in the seventh.

Drury outhit Rockhurst, 15-8. The Hawks were held hitless in the first four innings before breaking out with five hits in the fifth.

Junior right-hander Nathan Miller allowed three runs on six hits in 4.2 innings in his first start of the season.

The Hawks (5-18, 2-10 GLVC) host Truman State in a noon doubleheader on Saturday at Loyola Park.
