The Rockhurst women's lacrosse team won its second game in as many days, dominating shots and turnover margin in a 15-3 victory over Maryville Saturday morning in St. Louis.
The Hawks capitalized on 29 Maryville giveaways, tallying 34 shots on goal to the Saints' four.
Rockhurst started fast, opening up a 5-0 lead in less than eight minutes. The Hawks took a 7-1 lead into halftime after a
Marianna Anderson free position goal at the 3:22 mark of the first half. The Hawks ran away with it in the second half, scoring eight unanswered goals to stretch the lead to 15-1.
Logan Derosia scored a game-high six goals on nine shots and earned five draw controls.
Hannah Miller posted three goals and one assist.
Maddi Scheipeter added two goals and five draw controls.
Hanna Meek collected three ground balls and three draw controls.
Emily Duff (one goal allowed) and
Kate McDonald (two goals allowed) were strong in net for the Hawks.
Rockhurst improves to 3-4 with the win. The Hawks open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play next Saturday, traveling to Westminister College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
