Hawks defeat Jewell 6-1 in GLVC opener

The Rockhurst women's tennis team begin conference play with a 6-1 victory over William Jewell Friday at the Loyola Park Tennis Courts.

 

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead after doubles, winning the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 matches.

Sam Czarnecki, Anilu Barraza, Emma Persson, Octavia Malin and Paula Romero were victorious in singles play with two-set wins.

The win moves Rockhurst to 7-6  (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
