Rockhurst's four-game winning streak was snapped Tuesday night as the 16th-ranked Colorado Mesa Mavericks defeated the Hawks, 18-2, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The loss comes after the Hawks won their first two games of the road trip, opening RMAC play 2-0 with wins at Westminster, 15-6, and Fort Lewis, 18-2.
Logan Derosia and
Hannah Miller scored Rockhurst's two goals. Derosia and
Hanna Meek each tallied a team-high four draw controls. Meek led the Hawks in ground balls with three, and tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with
Marianna Anderson (three apiece).
Rockhurst (5-5, 2-1 RMAC) returns home for a showdown with Adams State on March 18 at 5:00 p.m.
