Quinton Curry scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to power Rockhurst to a 75-55 victory over McKendree Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
The win moves the Hawks (13-10, 7-6 GLVC) into eighth place in the GLVC Point Rating System. The top eight teams in the GLVC advance to the conference tournament in March in Edwardsville, Illinois.
"I loved our defense, especially in the second half," said Rockhurst coach
Drew Diener. "Our guys really committed to competing on that end of the floor. They run some great motion and cutting action. It forces you to be alert and active on and off the ball."
The Hawks held McKendree to 20 points in the second half after taking a seven-point lead into halftime (42-35). The Bearcats were held to six-of-25 shooting (24.0 percent) in the final 20 minutes.

Curtis Lewis posted 16 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Nick Volz collected 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Eddie Muench and
Auston Rushing came off the bench to combine for 20 points and six 3-point field goals.

Chris Hamil combined for 18 rebounds and nine assists. Evans gave the Hawks a 73-50 lead on a reverse dunk shot with 2:09 left.

Rockhurst shot 56.1 percent from the field (32 of 57) and made eight of 21 three-point shots (38.1 percent).

Three players each scored 11 points to pace McKendree (9-13, 5-8 GLVC). The Bearcats shot 36.7 percent from the field (18 of 49).
