Balanced attack carries Hawks into GLVC finals

A balanced offense led 21st-ranked Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Indianapolis in the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament (25-21, 25-11, 25-17) Saturday night in East Peoria, Illinois.

The top-seeded Hawks, 28-7 overall, will meet third-seeded Missouri-St. Louis, 29-3, in the GLVC Tournament championship match at noon Sunday.

Five players collected eight or more kills for the Hawks. Audrey Arand led the way with 11 kills and nine digs. Mary Rolf collected nine kills with a .750 hitting percentage.

Karli Reichert had nine kills and eight digs. Alyssa Woodman tacked on nine kills and six digs. Justice Wingate added eight kills with a .583 hitting percentage.

Dani Prusha posted 39 assists and 10 digs. Jadyn Makovicka tallied a team-high 14 digs.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, Indianapolis 21
The Hawks never trailed in the opening set. Reichert and Woodman combined for nine kills.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Indianapolis 11
Rockhurst jumped out to a 16-7 lead. The Hawks hit .480 with only two hitting errors.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Indianapolis 17
The Hawks used a 12-3 run to grab a 12-7 lead. Wingate and Arand combined for eight kills.

Player of the Match
Audrey Arand. The junior attacker finished with 11 kills while hitting .476, nine digs and a team-high 11.5 points.
