Top-seeded Hawks meet Miners in GLVC Tournament

Rockhurst travels to East Peoria, Illinois, seeking their second straight GLVC Tournament title.

The Rockhurst Hawks open GLVC Tournament play Friday night in East Peoria, Illinois, taking on the Missouri S&T Miners (8:30 p.m.).

After winning the GLVC regular season title with a 13-2 record, Rockhurst (26-7) enters the conference tournament as the number one seed. The Hawks check in at No. 21 in the AVCA national rankings and remain No. 6 in the NCAA Midwest Regional rankings.

Missouri S&T (21-9, 8-7 GLVC) snapped a three-game skid with a win over Lindenwood in the Miners' regular season finale, holding on for the eighth and final spot in the GLVC Tournament. The Miners are 6-0 in neutral site matches this season.

The winner of the 1 vs. 8 matchup between Rockhurst and S&T will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, meeting the winner of No. 4 Indianapolis vs. No. 5 Drury.
