Hawks bring home GLVC Volleyball Championship

Rockhurst captured its second GLVC Volleyball Championship, pulling away for a 3-1 win over 14th-ranked Drury (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20) in the finals of the GLVC Tournament Saturday in East Peoria, Illinois.

The Hawks, 30-6 overall, will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Tournament bracket Sunday night.

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 22 kills and 17 digs. Alyssa Woodman posted 14 kills and four blocks. Mary Rolf collected 12 kills and six blocks. Emma Kriete added 10 kills and 13 digs. Kalie Arnold tallied a team-high 21 digs. Dani Prusha finished with 58 assists and 18 digs.

Set One: Drury 25, Rockhurst 21
Drury jumped out to a 19-12 lead. The Panthers hit .311 in the set with just three attack errors.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Drury 20
The Hawks took command early, getting out to a 15-10 lead. Reichert and Kriete combined for nine kills.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Drury 21
Rockhurst led 6-1 early and moved out to a 21-17 lead. Reichert and Woodman combined for nine kills.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Drury 20
The Hawks ended the set on a 6-2 run to close out the match. Reichert led the way with nine kills.

Karli Reichert. The All-GLVC First Team outside hitter averaged 5.40 kills and 4.10 digs per set.
