Hawks hold off William Jewell at home

The 12th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks rallied after dropping the first set to post a 3-1 victory over William Jewell (21-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-23) Tuesday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Karli Reichert led the Hawks (15-3, 5-0 GLVC) to their 10th consecutive win with 20 kills and 11 digs. Alyssa Woodman posted 14 kills and seven digs. Justice Wingate had a team-high six blocks.

Jadyn Makovicka paced the Hawks with 21 digs. Audrey Arand finished with eight kills and 10 digs. Mary Rolf added 10 kills and two blocks. Dani Prusha tallied 52 assists and 11 digs.

Set One: William Jewell 25, Rockhurst 21
The Cardinals ended the set on a 5-0 run to rally from a 21-20 deficit. The Hawks made 10 hitting errors.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, William Jewell 19
A 14-4 run gave the Hawks a 22-12 lead. Reichert and Woodman combined for 10 kills.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, William Jewell 16
The Hawks ended the set on a 7-3 run. Rockhurst collected 15 kills with only three hitting errors.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, William Jewell 23
Rockhurst jumped out to leads of 11-2 lead and 17-8. Reichert led the way with six kills.

Karli Reichert. The senior outside hitter averaged 5.0 kills per set. She scored 24 points on 20 kills, three blocks and two service errors.
