Hawks meet Maryville, S&T this weekend

The Hawks return to Bourke Field Friday to take on undefeated Maryville.
The Rockhurst men's soccer team (3-3-1, 3-2 GLVC) is riding a two-game winning streak into GLVC play this weekend as they host Maryville (Friday, 7:30 p.m.) and travel to Missouri S&T (Sunday, 2:30 p.m.).

Maryville enters Kansas City with a perfect 8-0 record (5-0 GLVC) and ranked third in the nation. The Saints have been as dominant as that record would indicate, having outscored their opponents 21-3 on the season. Rockhurst leads the all-time series, 10-2-1, as Maryville has won the last two meetings by 1-0 scores.

Missouri S&T enters the weekend near Rockhurst in the standings, with a record of 3-3-1 (2-2-1 GLVC). The Miners are unbeaten in conference home games (2-0-1). S&T has won the last two meetings by 3-2 scores and trails the all-time series, 28-6-1.

Rockhurst enters these matches with momentum after a pair of road wins over Southwest Baptist (2-0) and Drury (2-1) last weekend. Sophomore midfielder Jordan Andrews has provided a spark since returning from an injury, as he found the back of the net three times in those two road wins.

The Hawks' defense has been stout, allowing just eight goals in seven games. They will need that to continue this weekend against a pair of strong conference opponents.

Both matches will streaming on glvcsn.com and the GLVCSN mobile app. Live stats are available here on rockhursthawks.com.
