Hawks return home to host Ottawa Braves

The Rockhurst Hawks return home to meet the Ottawa Braves for the third consecutive year Tuesday (7:30 p.m.) at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst (17-6) has won the past eight meetings and holds an 11-10 advantage in the all-time series. The Braves bring a 17-11 record into the non-conference match.

The Hawks are currently ranked 20th in the latest AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll. Rockhurst ranks in the top 25 in the nation in hitting percentage (10th, .264), kills per set (20th, 13.9) and assists per set (22nd, 12.79).

Karli Reichert leads the team in kills (3.85 per set, 4th in GLVC) and points (4.33 per set, 3rd in GLVC). Alyssa Woodman ranks 9th in kills (3.37 per set), 8th in points (3.90 per set) and ninth in service aces per set (0.32) in the GLVC.

Jadyn Makovicka stands fifth in the GLVC in digs per set (4.47). Dani Prusha ranks third in the GLVC in assists (10.87 per set). Mary Rolf stands third in hitting percentage in the GLVC (.371). Justice Wingate ranks eighth in blocks (1.06) in the GLVC.

Ottawa posted a 2-2 record last week. Ottawa defeated Southwestern (3-0) and Oklahoma Wesleyan (3-0), while suffering losses to Lindsey Wilson (3-0) and Missouri Baptist (3-0). Ottawa is 6-1 in the NAIA's Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, in second place behind Saint Mary.

Ayona Tharps is the team leader in kills per set (3.3). Allison Bauer leads the Braves in assists per set (5.2). Heather Huesman is Ottawa's leader in digs per set (2.7) and Makayla Aspegren is the team's leader in blocks per set (1.1).

The Hawks return to conference play at home on Friday against Missouri S&T.
