Hawks fall to UMSL for the first time since 2013

Missouri-St. Louis scored the tie-breaking goal in the 60th minute to edge Rockhurst 2-1 Sunday in St. Louis.

The victory was the Tritons' first triumph over Rockhurst since 2013. The Hawks now hold a 16-9-5 advantage in the all-time series.

UMSL grabbed a 1-0 halftime lead with a goal in the 36th minute. The Tritons outshot Rockhurst 6-1 in the first half.

The Hawks tied the score 24 seconds into the second half on a goal by Trevor Cissell, who scored his first collegiate goal off a restart off a pass from Pablo Salvador Lopez.

Rockhurst finished with eight shots, including seven in the second half. Salvador Lopez led the Hawks with three shots. RU's Nick Randazzo made five saves in goal.

The Hawks (4-7-2, 4-6-1 GLVC) return home to host Lewis Friday night.
