Hawks face tough test at home Friday night

The Rockhurst men's soccer team faces one of their toughest tests of the year Friday night at home against second-place McKendree at 7:30. On Sunday, the Hawks host Southern Indiana at 2:30 p.m.

Rockhurst (4-4-1, 4-3 GLVC) is coming off a 3-2 victory at Missouri S&T last Sunday. The Hawks have won three of their four games.

McKendree (6-1-2, 5-0-2 GLVC) will be looking for its sixth consecutive victory. The Bearcats have outscored their last five opponents, 11-3.

The Hawks will be meeting McKendree for the eighth time since 2012. Rockhurst holds a 6-1 lead in the all-time series. The Hawks won 2-1 at McKendree last year.

Southern Indiana (3-4-2, 3-3-1 GLVC) is coming off a 4-0 loss at Drury last Sunday. The Screaming Eagles won their three previous games against Lindenwood, Missouri-St. Louis and Southwest Baptist by a 7-1 margin.

Since 1998, Rockhurst holds a 19-3-3 advantage over the Eagles. The Hawks split two games at USI last year: falling 2-1 in the regular season and winning 3-1 in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals.

Both matches will be streamed for free on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN.com).
