Hawks fall at 22nd-ranked Drury, 3-1

The Rockhurst Hawks committed 34 hitting errors in falling to 22nd-ranked Drury in four sets (25-12, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21) Saturday in Springfield, Missouri.

Junior outside hitter Karli Reichert led the eighth-ranked Hawks with 16 kills and eight digs. Alyssa Woodman posted 15 kills and 13 digs. Emily Matio collected eight kills.

Setter Dani Prusha finished with 37 assists and eight digs. Senior libero Kalie Arnold posted 28 digs and freshman Bridget Roudebush tallied 14 digs.

"We didn't play up to our potential. We made some unforced errors that hurt us. We need to clean up our side of the net and limit our mistakes," said Rockhurst coach Tracy Rietzke.

Set One: Drury 25, Rockhurst 12
Drury went on a 13-5 run to take a 21-10 lead. The Hawks had more hitting errors (10) than kills (six).

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Drury 23
The Hawks closed the set on a 10-7 run to even the match. Woodman's fifth kill of the set was the winning point.

Set Three: Drury 25, Rockhurst 21
The Panthers rallied from a 19-17 deficit to win the set by four points. There were seven lead changes in the set.

Set Four: Drury 25, Rockhurst 21
Drury pulled away from a 10-all tie to close out the match. Woodman and Reichert combined for nine kills.

Player of the Match
Kalie Arnold. The senior from Topeka, Kansas posted 28 digs (seven per set). She had 11 digs in the fourth set and eight digs in the third set. Arnold passed 1,000 career digs. She now has 1,026 career digs.
