No. 8 Hawks open conference play with 3-0 win

The Rockhurst Hawks opened the conference portion of their schedule with a 3-0 sweep over Missouri S&T (25-21, 25-19, 25-12) Friday night in Rolla, Missouri.

Alyssa Woodman collected 19 kills to power the eighth-ranked Hawks to their ninth win of the season. Karli Reichert and Dani Prusha both posted double-doubles. Reichert tallied 10 kills and 12 digs. Prusha finished with 31 assists and 11 digs. Kalie Arnold had a team-high 20 digs.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, Missouri S&T 21
The Hawks finished the set on a 10-6 run after the score was 15-all. Woodman had seven kills and Arnold had seven digs.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Missouri S&T 19
Rockhurst scored 10 of the last 13 points and ended the set on a 5-1 run. Woodman, Reichert and Audrey Arand combined for 16 kills.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Missouri S&T 12
The Hawks took an early 8-3 lead and closed out the set on a 7-2 run. Woodman (6 kills) and Arnold (6 digs) paced Rockhurst.

Player of the Match
Alyssa Woodman. The junior outside hitter posted 19 kills with only three hitting errors. She had seven kills in the first set and added six kills in each of the next two sets.
