No. 14 Hawks power past Southern Indiana in four sets

Alyssa Woodman posted 18 kills and a .395 hitting percentage to power the 14th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks to a 3-1 victory over Southern Indiana (25-18, 23-25, 25-10, 25-12) Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks collected 64 kills behind a .319 hitting percentage in winning their sixth consecutive match.

Karli Reichert tallied 15 kills, 12 digs and three service aces. Emily Matio added 14 kills. Kalie Arnold finished with 27 digs. Dani Prusha added 51 assists, 11 digs and three blocks.

"We didn't hit the ball well in the second set. We did a much better job of attacking in the third and fourth sets," said Rockhurst coach Tracy Rietzke.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, Southern Indiana 18
The Hawks closed out the set on a 9-3 run. Reichert and Matio combined for nine kills, while Arnold added six digs.

Set Two: Southern Indiana 25, Rockhurst 23
The Eagles won the set behind a 9-5 closing run. The Hawks hit .085 with 10 hitting errors. Arnold had nine digs.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Southern Indiana 10
Rockhurst went on a 15-2 run to take a 23-8 lead. Woodman, Matio and Reichert combined for 15 kills. Arnold totaled eight digs.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Southern Indiana 12
The Hawks collected 16 kills with a .625 hitting percentage. Woodman led the way with six kills.

Dani Prusha. The sophomore setter posted a double-double with 51 assists and 11 digs.
