Missouri-Kansas City scored two early goals in defeating Rockhurst, 2-0, in an exhibition match Saturday night at UMKC's Durwood Stadium.
The Kangaroos scored on a penalty kick in the 18th minute and scored their second goal five minutes later off a corner kick.
UMKC outshot the Hawks, 9-8.
Marco Cora and
Federico Verlicchi led Rockhurst with two shots apiece.

Nick Randazzo held the Roos scoreless in the second half.
Third-ranked Rockhurst will open the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 2 at home against Fort Hays State.
