Hawks turn back 13th-ranked Drury in four sets

Emma Kriete and Alyssa Woodman combined for 34 kills to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 win over 13th-ranked Drury (28-26, 25-12, 23-25, 26-24) Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (26-6, 13-4 GLVC) finished with 64 kills and 101 digs. Kriete posted a career-high 18 kills, 16 digs and five blocks. Woodman tallied 16 kills and 11 digs. Karli Reichert collected 12 kills, 13 digs and three blocks.

Kalie Arnold had a team-high 33 digs. Dani Prusha finished with 54 assists and 23 digs. Emily Matio and Mary Rolf combined for 16 kills and 10 blocks.

Set One: Rockhurst 28, Drury 26
The Hawks jumped to a 13-7 lead, but had to rally from a 24-23 deficit. Kriete and Woodman combined for 13 kills and eight digs. Prusha added nine digs.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Drury 12
Rockhurst hit .438 while posting 16 kills. Woodman posted five kills and Arnold tallied 11 digs.

Set Three: Drury 25, Rockhurst 23
Drury closed out set on a 6-2 run. Reichert, Woodman and Kriete combined for 12 kills and 17 digs.

Set Four: Rockhurst 26, Drury 24
The Hawks jumped out to a 15-10 lead and rallied from a 23-21 deficit. Rolf, Matio and Kriete combined for 12 kills and six blocks.

Player of the Match
Emma Kriete. The junior right side hitter got off to a fast start with seven kills in the first set. She posted her first double-double of the season.
