Tritons upset Hawks in four sets

Missouri-St. Louis recovered from an opening set loss to upset Rockhurst in four sets (23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23) Friday night in St. Louis. The loss drops the 23rd-ranked Hawks to 23-6 overall and 11-4 in the GLVC.

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 16 kills and 20 digs. Emily Matio collected 12 kills and three blocks. Alyssa Woodman posted 11 kills, nine digs and three blocks. Mary Rolf added nine kills. Kalie Arnold tallied 34 digs. Dani Prusha and Gabbie Inman combined for 53 assists and 14 digs.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, UMSL 23
The Hawks closed out the set on a 6-0 run. Reichert and Woodman combined for eight kills.

Set Two: UMSL 25, Rockhurst 20
UMSL jumped out to a 12-7 lead. Matio and Rolf combined for nine kills.

Set Three: UMSL 25, Rockhurst 21
The Tritons pulled away to take a 20-13 lead and held off a late Rockhurst rally. Reichert posted seven kills.


Set Four: UMSL 25, Rockhurst 23
UMSL rallied from a 23-21 deficit to score four consecutive points to prevent a fifth set. Reichert and Woodman combined for eight kills.

Kalie Arnold. The senior libero averaged 8.5 digs per set. She leads the conference in digs per set in GLVC matches only.
