Rockhurst ends Crossover with win over Michigan Tech

The 10th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks won the first two sets on the way to posting a 3-1 victory over 25th-ranked Michigan Tech (25-19, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19) in their final match in the Midwest Region Crossover Saturday at The Academy in Indianapolis. The Hawks collected 60 kills behind a .269 hitting percentage in winning their 22nd match of the season.

Karli Reichert and Alyssa Woodman combined for 34 kills and 29 digs. Reichert tallied 17 kills and 16 digs, while Woodman collected 17 kills and 13 digs. Emma Kriete posted eight kills and 11 digs. Emily Matio added eight kills and four blocks. Kalie Arnold also had 16 digs. Dani Prusha tallied 50 assists and eight digs.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, Michigan Tech 19
The Hawks went on an 10-5 run to take an 20-15 lead. Woodman and Reichert combined for 10 kills.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Michigan Tech 22
Rockhurst jumped out to a 16-11 lead and eventually led 23-19. Reichert secured the win with two kills on the last two points.

Set Three: Michigan Tech 25, Rockhurst 16
Michigan Tech went on a 7-0 run to take a 17-9 lead. The Hawks committed seven attack errors.


Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Michigan Tech 19
The Hawks hit .351 with two attack errors. Matio and Woodman combined for eight kills.

Player of the Match
Alyssa Woodman. The junior outside only had one hitting error while collecting a .348 hitting percentage. Six of her 17 kills came in the first set.
