No. 10 Hawks sweep Saginaw Valley in Crossover opener

The 10th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks cruised to a 3-0 victory over Saginaw Valley State (25-17, 25-13, 25-14) in their opening match in the Midwest Region Crossover Friday at The Academy in Indianapolis. The Hawks collected 42 kills behind a .323 hitting percentage in winning their 12th consecutive match.

Karli Reichert tallied 13 kills and nine digs. Mary Rolf posted 10 kills and two blocks. Alyssa Woodman and Emily Matio each finished with seven kills. Kalie Arnold had a team-high 15 digs. Dani Prusha tallied 37 assists and eight digs.

Set One: Rockhurst 25, Saginaw Valley 17
The Hawks went on an 11-3 run to take an 18-10 lead. Prusha and Arnold combined for 10 digs.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Saginaw Valley 13
Rockhurst jumped out to a 17-7 lead and eventually led by 14 points. The Hawks hit .429 as Rolf (7) and Reichert (5) had all but three of the Hawks' 15 kills.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Saginaw Valley 14
The Hawks closed out the match on 10-5 run. Arnold posted nine digs. Woodman and Reichert combined for nine kills.

Player of the Match
Karli Reichert. The junior outside hitter had 13 kills and nine digs. She only had three hitting errors while collecting a .357 hitting percentage. She posted 10 kills in the second and third sets.
