Box Score Rockhurst jumped out to a 20-point lead in the second half on the way to an 80-75 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday in Somers, Wisconsin.
Jillian Myers hit a jumper late in the third period to give the Hawks a 58-38 lead. Parkside opened the fourth period on a 17-4 run to cut the Hawks' lead to four points, 64-60.
Rockhurst sank 12 of 16 free throws in the final four-plus minutes to hold off the Rangers. The Hawks shot 78.1 percent from the foul line on 25-of-32 free throws.
Myers led the Hawks with 19 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds. Madeline Ronshausen posted 14 points, five assists and two blocks.
Tracy Monahan collected 11 points and four rebounds off the bench. Briahtia Sebek tallied nine points and four rebounds. Morgan Harwood added eight points and nine rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 46.3 percent from the field on 25 of 54 field goals. Parkside made 24 of 55 shots for a 43.6 percent field goal percentage.
The Hawks (8-9, 4-5 GLVC) play at Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday.
