Balanced attack leads Hawks to 3-1 win over Springfield

Box Score A balancing hitting attack led Rockhurst a 3-1 victory over Illinois Springfield on Saturday in Mason-Halpin Field House. Five Hawks posted 10 or more kills as Rockhurst finished with 59 kills and a .233 hitting percentage.

After splitting the first two sets, the Hawks won third set, 25-15, and rallied to win the fourth set, 32-30, after overcoming four set points.

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 12 kills and 10 digs. Emily Matio tallied 11 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Mary Rolf, Alyssa Woodman and Audrey Arand each collected 10 kills. Rolf added a team-high five blocks.

Grace Carter posted 38 assists, six kills and nine digs. Anne Hellwege finished with 18 digs to improve her career digs total to 2,040.

The Hawks (11-3, 3-1 GLVC) host Drury next Friday night.
