Rockhurst's dream of advancing to its first NCAA national championship game fell short Friday night in Pensacola, Florida. The Hawks fell to top-seeded Concordia-St. Paul, 3-0, in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball National Championships.

The Hawks end their season with a 32-8 record, while Concordia-St. Paul (33-3) will go after its ninth national title in the past 11 years against third-seeded Florida Southern on Saturday.

The Golden Bears won the first set 25-17 and rallied from a 22-18 deficit to win the second set, 25-23. Concordia-St. Paul also rallied in the third set to close out the match with a 31-29 win. There were seven tie scores in the second set and 13 tie scores in the third set.

"We knew they were going to be a tough out," said Rockhurst coach Tracy Rietzke. "Our kids played hard. We stressed to them to compete on every point. I thought thesekids did a great job of competing."

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 16 kills and four blocks. Alyssa Woodman collected nine kills and six digs. Mary Rolf had seven kills and seven blocks. Anne Hellwege posted a team-high 20 digs. Grace Carter tallied 31 assists and 17 digs. Kalie Arnold added 11 digs.
